The memory I have of the book is in a classroom at NUIG, with my Modern Literature Seminar.
I had enjoyed as much as I’d read of the book
I liked the pace, I liked the variety of characters.
I hadn’t finished the book and still haven’t read all of them. I’ve reread Bliss and sections of Prelude and a couple of others, the voyage. It’s very good.
A class reading list
I had got the book from the college book shop as it was on my seminar reading list.
I was reading in the classroom because I was terrible for not reading before class.
It’s usually a quiet place save for the voices of the class. Except the day of the memory in particular had builders on the roof drilling and working.
The place is inside on the secnd floor of towerblock 1 in the NUIG Arts Concourse.
Beautiful sunshine in April of last year.
I don’t usually go here to read.
It’s part of my regular journey to college.
I was last there Octoer of last year.
I associate warm dusty carpets with the room
I brought Anna Mae Sheehan here once
I would bring Aaron Simpson.
